Rogues

Thieves

Thieves are not necessarily evil. Many simply have advanced "treasure hunting" skills. Thief characters often have multi-purpose skills useful to any adventuring group. They can use many weapons, but only lighter armor. There are several types of thieves including pick-pockets, burglars, assassins, scouts, thugs, beggars, etc.

Specialists

A specialist thief is one who has chosen a particular type of rogue activity to master. They often join specialist guilds, like cat-burglar guilds, mercenary scouting bands, assassin cabals, pirate crews, etc. The specialists gain bonuses with their own necessary skills, but cannot use other skills that don't pertain to their mastery.

Bards

The Paranese bard is the jack of all trades. Bards can do a little of everything, from sleight of hand, to real magic, to deciphering ancient languages, and reciting forgotten lore. They use their learned skills to survive, but they rely on their charm and sometimes magical songs to earn a good living as a patroned performer or as a traveling musician.

Skalds

The skald is the viking bard. He sings the stories of his people and acts as a scout and troubadour for the Norse folk. They are able to learn the runes of power in a limited form and have the same charm and song abilities of the Paranese bard.

Blades

A traveling performer who uses some of the abilities of the bard added to an advanced level of training with a specific weapon or performance piece (i.e. a high wire, flaming ring, etc) to entertain crowds. These fantastic stunts and fancy weapon-handling are often only used to draw the attention of the crowd, while cutpurses lighten the loads of the spectators.
